Slick (Ethereum Gas Price Derivatives) was a collaborative project completed during San Francisco’s 2018 Ethereum Hackathon (ETH San Francisco). I worked with a business researcher and a full-stack developer to design a system in 36 hours which,
- Allowed consumers to lock in their maximum transaction fee for guaranteeing that a transaction will be written to the Ethereum blockchain by a certain date.
- This creates the first ever derivatives (and derivative marketplace) on cryptocurrency transaction fees.
I challenged myself, and my team, to implement a solution that balanced the needs of front-end users with innovative technology on the development side. Our team won Celer Network’s $2500 dollar cInnovator prize for this project—”the most innovative use case”—which was the largest private sponsor prize available at ETH San Francisco.
